Hey guys I just got hired on by a company for team truck driving and they told me and it's also in my contract that I'm paid 48 cpm but we split the miles. Now I've been told by numerous people that it sounds to good to be true is it really better than the other way around split cpm and keep miles?

You split 48 cpm. I don’t know where the confusion is. The truck makes 48 cpm so you get 24 and he gets 24. Pretty cut and dry

24cpm for 5000 miles is the same as 48cpm for 2500 miles

    Which company is it?
You will be paid .24 cpm for all miles the truck runs. You're paid for your miles and your teammates miles also.
You will get some good paychecks.

Some are from .60 cpm on up to .75 cpm and I think UPS is going higher than that on their new contract.

Maybe I don’t understand your question properly but it sounds like semantics. It seems either way, if you and your teammate run 6000 miles a week at .48 cpm it’ll still be $1440.00 each no matter how you split it.
Can’t you make something close to that as an independent driver. If you have a couple years experience there’s no reason you can’t make that on your own and still sleep sound and get your showers during the ten hours your truck is stationary.
That’s one less truck the company has to tie up and it really sounds like their getting the bargain at your expense.
I’d be cautious and investigate as many options as you can in the time you have.

Sounds kinda low to me. I get .40 for all miles driven loaded. Team driving can be challenging. Make sure its going to pay you enough that you can stick it out for awhile and be successful. If not for my checks, I would not be teaming.
