so the company i drive for stuck me in a different truck.. not slipseatin, but the one i was in was old.. this one is the same age, but less mileage.
it has a 4 foot antenna that looks like it came off an old mack.. lol.. and a 2 foot k40, on the other side.. with a little wire/tube.. thingy that ya can raise/lower.i hooked up my cb, as normal. but the swr rating is as faaaar over to the right as possible. on every channel. i tried to mess with the little antennas height, thing but it did nothing..oi found another.. 4 footer in the storage box, hooked it up to where the 2 footer was, and it did the same thing.. do i need new antennas or something else?? ive never had any problems like this in the past. lol
add: i tried to calibrate it..as normal..did nothin, tried my cb in the old truck again, and a buddys truck, and it worked
different truck, new problem

time to get new coax and new antennas
Echo Thanks this. -
It might not be the antenna itself, I'd first check for proper grounding and check the coax for damage.
-
how would i check that? -
the coax i can probably get to, but the wiring is tucked up in the headliner.. thingy... its an international 9200.. company truck, so i dont think they would like me takin apart their truck.. LOL, the coax is tucked in that area, then it looks like it goes in into a smaller wire that goes down the A pillar, then goes out to the mirror bracket.. etc.. the power supply wires are short, but i guess they work? the cb lights up and all.. i could probably jimmy rig something together if i had to, which i kinda need to do cuz our customers require us to use cb to comunicate with them...etc

I ran temporary coax through the vent window, some run it through t he door jamb. Substitute that with the door closed and if it fixes it then you have found it.
Not knowing what was there to begin with, I would hook up a single antenna on the passenger side with a 50 ohm cable set to use until they move you into it permanently, then you might want to do it like it was. I still prefer the single antenna route; lots easier to tune it.
