If they found it, then it was never truly expunged.

Not sure how it works with public records and such, the background check they did on me to work there found stuff I'd completely forgotten about like traffic stops that I got a warning for and weapons permits that had long expired from a dozen states away.

It was approx. 40 pages worth of random info. Social media accounts, former employers, all the normal dac, psp, mvr, etc. Previous insurance providers, vehicles I used to own.

It really turned me off to working there but the money was so insane I couldn't turn it down. Ended up not being worth working there anyways but it was almost like some CIA level background check. Even had pictures of my drivers licenses going back to when I was a teenager. Hell, I remember they found the ID card I had to have to take the SAT or ACT or whatever before college. Took around 2 months for them to do, wish I could remember what company they hired to do it.

Guess that's the price you pay to haul 60k lb of chloroform and other nasty ####.

Nowadays with the internet, nothing is secret.

Not sure about your situation but I had a few convictions expunged and then applied for Baltimore City Police Department and they didn’t find them.

Maybe the person you're referring to didn't wait long enough after the expungement to do the background check? Or perhaps the records were simply sealed instead?

Even the FBI will only see an incident number but no details whatsoever about the charges nor the outcome of the arrest for me and my former state (MD).

This shouldn't even be allowed but that said, once it is in the court system, it is there forever. All they do is tag the conviction Expunged and it does not show up in a routine background check.

You would be surprised at what people's records show.

It is always there and any law enforcement agency can find it, so can any investigator.

Not in MD. All records are erased and incinerated. Some states will seal instead of expunge. There's an obvious difference between the two.

If it is in the system, it is not erased, they can't because the system propagates the data to many other systems.

Ok, Matlock. Maybe in your state that might be true but when you work for the MD court system come back and school me. A simple internet search can verify.

As mentioned in my previous post, I have personally gone through a BGC for BPD. My record is blank except for an incident number.

That incident could be a simple arrest all the way to a conviction but it's impossible to tell which outcome due to everything being erased/incinerated.

If your record is expunged, why would youneed to list it. "expunge" means to officially remove or erase a record, particularly a criminal record, from public access.
If this is true it should not affect your being hired, Hazmat or not I don't think has alot to do with it, more of general company policy, but I migh check with a labor law attourney regarding if you even need to devolge a expunged conviction.

Baltimore PD is so understaffed anymore they’ll take anyone who can make it from the donut shop to the car without getting winded.
