Those episodes of "feeling weird" could be plenty of things, not just pre-fit warnings.
Don't go messing with your license until you have a definite diagnosis.
Once it says on your medical records that you took Dilantin, you might problems as it implies a history of fits. WIthout a diagnosis, you cannot prove one way or the other.
Go back to the neuro doc, with a list of written questions, and write down his answers.
(if you don't write it all down, you will forget something, guaranteed!)
Get a formal diagnosis, get a "reason" for why they suggested Dilantin, get details of how they intend to prove the diagnosis, what tests, etc are involved, and what other options there are besides the Dilantin.
Docs get it wrong you know!
Get it all 100% clear before taking any new med, and don't be afraid to disagree with the doc.
Its your livelihood that is at stake, not his. A wrong diagnosis or prescription will not do him much harm, but if it costs you your job, income, home . . . . .
Anyway, enough of that worst-case-scenario stuff!
Have a great Christmas, and post here again once you have seen the doc in January.
