Darlin thats exactly what we did we told you what we would do. We would tell the boss what happened or at least what we know happened and go from there

and that's all I was asking...I wasn't asking what you would do if you were me. I asked what you would do and I appreciate those who said what they would do.

The title of this thread "Dilemma .. Please Help" Tells me you did ask us what you should do.

However, since you now asked what I would do.. "While I was sleeping we hit a rather large pothole" Actually I would have told my supervisor how the real damage occurred. Your pothole explanation has a bigger hole in it.. If the hole was big enough to damage the step it would have damaged the fuel tank, probably blown a tire. Unless you were turning at the time the trailer would have tracked into the same pothole. Any pothole deep enough to damage the tractor on one side mostly likely would have caused the trailer to tip as well as the tractors drive wheels and trailer tandems went into the same pothole.

As I said before how about the rest of this story!! You weren't in Wilkes-Barre making an illegal left turn were you?

Either way you should not have had to be put in this position, probably bad etiquette but, does your company have difficulty fostering an honest atmosphere? Do as i say not as i see everyone doing? Sounds uncomfortable to me.

actually if you bothered to read the whole thing I asked what you would do. I wrote it in English so it shouldn't be that hard to understand

This "accident" didn't happen on the road it happened at a shipper, and it's not a normal shipper....we picked up wood, so anyone who knows anything about picking up wood, knows it happens gee I don't know where they cut down trees and there is no real road...and again i wasn't driving

Like I said.. Tell us rest of the story!! OK let me get this straight you were asleep in the sleeping berth and woke up to a loud boom on a logging road?? Neither of you got out to inspect the truck after said loud boom.

So under this scenario I would have:

A: told my co-driver to stop.
B: Got out of the truck and inspected it for damage.
C: Informed my employer of said damage before being asked.
D: Handed him my inspection report
E: Found a new co-driver if I was still employed

I am really amazed you could sleep on a logging road.

What amazes me Blaze is you came here asking for our opinion and what we should do, yet when we tell you, you get upset and defensive. Is it that we are not telling you what you want to hear?

I heard a bang it woke me up, yes, did I care, no, cuz I wasn't driving, and all my appendages were still intact.
I didn't get out of the truck we have e logs so he was on when this happened, not my problem.
enough with the holier than thou inspection report, unless you own the truck you are not doing the 45 min pre and post trip inspection, so please spare me the ########.
I am still employed never said I wasn't
