Why not attack it at every angle? Yes my wife has no experience as a broker. But she does have over 10 years of sales. Ultimately a broker is a salesman.

Seriously though why would I JUST drive. Why wouldn't I want to add another level to our business?

I know your being sarcastic but I’ve done or considered all of those things. Sometimes you just have to go for it.

Ive withheld saying anything because I have a sweet spot in my heart for people that just say f it and do something. I think it just came across bad because it made it seem like you thought of you have a brokerage then all of a sudden you’ll be overrun with customers.

Everyone is a newbie and knows nothing about something until they learn and do it. I applaud what you’re doing and hope things work out great with your wife. I work with my wife as well and there are downsides, but having two people fully onboard is a big asset.

Good luck and I hope you do get rich.

Wespipes, I like your out of the box thinking. A few gave you some good ideas. The best I can give you is stay away from the factoring companies. If you have a need for a cash injection speak with your bank. Most have programs where they'll purchase or loan against current invoices and the percentage rate is much lower than a factoring company. This has worked well with my business partner and me. She wants to save for expansion and I'm for borrowing if the formula is right. It's a happy medium. And yes, if your wife has 10 years experience as a sales person she will make a good broker. The bottom line is shippers don't want to take time to find trucks. They're looking for promises and if you're wife sticks to her promises made to the shipper you will see more and more freight opportunities. Don't expect them to put all their eggs in one basket. Good luck.

Your making even more sense now.If you’re wife is so great at sales why are you using load board freight she doesn’t need to be a broker to get direct customers for you.

Starting a broker business isn’t that easy,1 you have no credit rating as a new broker so you trying to even get trucks to haul freight that you might find will be nearly impossible,And if you did find trucks many of them will want quick pay will you have operating cash to pay them even if you’re not getting paid for 30 to 40 days out.Any companies you go after is going to want to know how many carriers are working with you what kind of truck availability you have. And the insurance cost and bond coverage .Seriously if you’re wife can sell start having her look for you.Worry about brokerage once you’re going good and making money
