As a follow-up, I'm at the J in Lordsburg, NM. And this might be the single worst cup of coffee I've had in my life
Jazz1 Thanks this. -
Coffee's like beer, bad is still better than not having it at all.
bzinger, Opus, Dave_in_AZ and 1 other person Thank this. -
I have been in this industry for decades, and ran like a bat out of H***. Never used any illegal drugs, or other pills to do my job. I ran one log book, made good money, and have an impeckible driving record. We have drunks behind the wheel of 80.000 lbs of truck, doing cocaine, meth, and other drugs. We also have just plain, downright stupid ##*** driving trucks today. E.L.D's have not changed a thing for the better or worse with the exception of making drivers violate their HOS due to the babysitter in the trucks.
As for fast food vs sit down food. Back in the day the truck stops were where drivers could sit and B.S face to face about everything in the industry, road conditions, weather conditions and so forth. Today with the fast food joints it is like the CB, drivers today do not have to have a conversation. Just a possible quick "Hi"kemosabi49 Thanks this. -
Dave_in_AZ and 06driver Thank this.

So did you try a silver dollar burger yet?
-
Got turned around in Gallup to OKC and New Braunfels. Looking forward to maybe grabbing a Whataburger while down hereMartinFromBC Thanks this.

Hahaha did they get bought out by White Castle?
I used to love to eat those things. Until they started charging the same as a real hamburger. I haven’t been back since
Plus, there’s no such animal as a thick bacon slice in California.
MartinFromBC and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
Pie? How about this one? $30 a slice, line out the door waiting for a chance to eat a slice. It was like eating sawdust.
MartinFromBC Thanks this. -
Not thick bacon, regular bacon.MartinFromBC Thanks this.
