Anyone pull a disc brake trailer with a drum brake tractor? Working on ordering a new trailer and don’t know how it would work. Worried about balance.

I have disc brake tractor and drum brake trailers. No problem in this set up. Only thing is when bobtailing and hit the brakes the tractor disc brakes really grab quickly and stop faster then I was planning on.

Works just fine. I have a 2018 pete with disks and pull company trailers that where built from the early 70's to 2016's equipped with disks. As long as the drums are adjusted properly you wont notice much difference. The disk trailers do tend to be a little smoother then the drum but I chalk that up to drum trailers not being in absolutely perfect adjustment and some not quite properly working ABS modules.

You will not regret getting the disc brakes on the trailer. The reduction in maintenance and the increase in stoping power is unbelievable.
I have since changed to 2018 WS and have disc brakes on all 10 axles now.
Had 3 axles of wheels off the trailer on Thursday - 200k miles on it and the pads look almost new.MartinFromBC, Feedman, Farmerbob1 and 3 others Thank this. -
I think all of primes Inc trailers are disc.

Hey Old Man, what's the cost upgrade of disc vs drums now? Is this 22.5?
