Disconnecting Transmission cooler on Eaton 18spd

    Eaton has kits to change from heat exchanger to air cooler . Although it is not recommended by Eaton Fuller, an air cooler will work ..

    Unless it has been changed to an air cooler instead of a heat exchanger, and depending on the year , it has antifreeze going through it .

    Hey guys i need some help the first i saw cooler transmission inside the trans whic is cooling antifreeze after one week after I purchased the truck I checked trans oil and saw milk oil drain out flush it and changed trans cooler after one month checked the oil and milky oil came out again so my question is can i switch to air cooler?

    I’m local, I disconnect(bypass) mine. Get it flush and clean, the antifreeze will eat up the synchros. It ate up mine and I ended up rebuilding mine.

    And an air cooler is fine if you are an interstate flyer.
