Nope, you arent wrong. Some/many of these laws are disciminatory. They remind me of hate crime laws, where if a white guy beats up a white guy, it's one thing. But if a white guy beats up a black guy, then by god there will be ADDITIONAL penalties, even though it's the same #### crime.

Best I can surmise is basicaly everything is becoming illegal. Do it today, tomorrow there may be a law against it. Laws are made by 4-wheelers, and the disrciminal laws they create are made for others and not themselves. The laws dont have to meet the criteria of common sense whatsoever, rather they just have to sell to the pussified voter who thinks that their liberal non representing represenative is making the world a better place to live. Much like gun kontrol laws.

Equal rights under the law is a myth.

    Sure...there are "equal rights"...
How much money do you have to hire a high dollar attorney to defend you?

    Or.......
Just become a "Victim" of "The System" and some bleeding heart will defend you pro bono.......

I don't know if I agree with holding CDL holders to a higher standard. In a big truck, maybe.

But when it comes to just driving on the road, I'd like to hold everyone else in a car to the same standard I'm held to when I'm driving a car.

If that means raising the bar for everyone else, why not? Wouldn't that mean safer roads?

    Hrmm............

Is "justice" that can be bought, actually "justice"?

The actual "myth" is justice itself.

It simply does NOT exist in the real world that MOST of us live in.

You talk like holding a professional driver to higher standards will cause the CDL driver to actually drive in more of a professional way but not true. Look at how many so called professional drivers, "so called professional drivers" are the one that you hear talk about the way four wheelers drive but drive worse then one, actually drive. CDL does not make you a professional driver and these laws are put into place to help get these unprofessional drivers off of the road before they kill someone. I just hope it works. If you drink and drive I think you should be shot on the spot. Sorry if this offends you drunks.

Frankly, I don't feel CDL holders are being held to a higher standard so much as we are being held to a higher...dollar..

As far as I'm concerned, if you're a reckless driver, you should lose your license, period. Whether you have a CDL or not shouldn't matter. The majority of dangerous drivers do not hold CDLs, but dealing with them is just as important.

Absolutely agree on the drunk driving. What I disagree on is that the BAC is different between the two groups. Personally, I think .04% is too high and wouldn't mind seeing .02% enforced for all drivers, CDL or not.

You nailed it. My buddy got a seatbelt ticket the other day. The cop wouldn't tell him how much it was so he called the courthouse to find out, the lady said $25. He asked even in a CMV truck? Oh sorry thats $135 she said. His reply, are you ##### kidding me!:biggrin_25510:
