Skooter, it is classic how little you know but bet you think you are the Mac Daddy of the phat trucking rate.

Let me explain my brokerage side. I have customers that we do expedite for. For them it is "Find a truck and tell me what it will cost." And this relationships works on a cost + basis. And I know I have 2-3 others looking for a truck. It is not about the cheapest but about getting it covered. PERIOD.

So, I ask you "What can you do this for"?

You hang-up. But the guy that understands the business gives me a rate, I add $50-$100 to that and book it.

But you are smug and proud that you showed me. While the "idiot" that bid the load is hauling 4 pallets for $3+ a mile.

Stop trying to pretend you have a set of brass ones. LMFAO

    Bill,

Each and every day I am surprised by how others conduct or at least say they conduct business. I came out of the dairy industry into this industry. In doing so, I have found many things interesting. One, how few people truly understand business. Two, comparatively speaking the labor requirements are much less physical. Three, this industry is less about relocation of product and MUCH more about the services you provide. Four, very little investment required when compared to many businesses. Five, really not at the control of market whims if you do number three properly. Six, its a great feeling when someone calls back to book your truck at the rate you quoted.

There are probably more things I've noticed but those are some bullets.
