I wouldn't have put up with it, up here in ontario your not allowed to smoke in a company vehicle, especially if a non-smoker is in the truck with you. can't smoke in bars or anythin. We have laws up here for human rights, an labour laws, company polices that require us to be clean, you have the right to a clean truck an he should have to clean to prove you a healthy box of hell. I'll never team drive with someone who isn't a friend.

LOL, that is nasty! I wouldn't have done it though. Sorry to hear you went through this. If it is the company I am thinking of it certainly doesn't surprise me in the slightest bit. Well, on the bright side, he DID leave you something to drink rolling around on the floor! J/K. Man o man.

I am curious as to what he looked like when you first met. Did he look like 90 miles of bad road at the begining of the trip?
I have to say if he did, I would have never stepped foot in the truck.........lol
Oh my god, Please let me get a clean trainer when I go out or I will ...................
You are a better man than me! -
I start my training in January, and I hope I do not run into a trainer like this. How can a person like this be a trainer. The best they could be is a PIG in the barnyard, but then again a pig would be much cleaner and probally smell better. Godd luck and motor safely

I am heading to tmc monday for a week of orentation then out with a trainer for 2 weeks. That is some nasty stuff and i would not nor could not put up with that. I hope that since tmc is very picky on there hiring that there trainers will be top notch just like the company is. I would love to see what the company looks like from that guy and what his truck looked like and smelled like. YUK! It is very important to go with a good company and a little research goes a long way.

Hey.... on a good note..... your done! No more of him. Congrads on hangin in there!

I have a halfway decent trainer. Well guy who lets me drive his truck till I finish my hrs anyway. I would never go home for a week and chance getting someone worse. Unless there is family emergency of course. How long till you get your own truck? Im hearing about 2 weeks.

that was gross man

Want to VOMIT!
And yes, there are some really nasty people out here driving these trucks. I am embarrassed to say I am even associated with this industry at times.
Funny thing is, it has gotten so bad out here, I can't tell the crack/meth heads from some of the truck drivers. Sitting in a Southern GA truck stop as I type.
Glad it's over for ya.

The reason that trainer had gotten away with his sloppiness is because no one is complaining, or if they have, they only made verbal complaints. When you lodge a verbal complaint, its your word against his. But when you sit down and compile a detailed description of his disgusting habits, and you write this out clearly (typed out with a word processor), then the charges are harder to deny. If you don't sit down and take time to file a formal complaint, other trainees will suffer as you have. This trainer is exploiting trainees, having them do most of the driving while they sit back, be lazy, and see how far he can get away with releasing his body's stench. If he smokes, and you don't, he's in violation of labor laws. Smokers are required to refrain from smoking when they're in the presence of non-smokers, unless they're outdoors. The inside of a truck or trailer are interior work places, so they can't smoke until they step out in the open. If I were in your shoes, I'd file one written complaint with the company, then print out a 2nd copy and send it to the Dept of Labor. This is a health and work place safety issue, so it falls in their jurisdiction.
