Good point Maybelle; I don't stop much at Petro's (except around 9-10am, to get a good breakfast once in a while), so I can't vouch for their coffee, but I noticed the same thing (weak coffee) at a few Love's, esp at night when it should be a criminal offense.
PS- Starbucks IS an expensive habit; I carry a cooler in my truck and buy 4-packs of doubleshots at Wallyworld or Meijer, and keep 'em nice and cool. They are a less expensive habit!

 

Believe it or not....coffee has the single largest profit margin of ANY other item sold in gas station convenience stores or truck stops. But the person in charge of making it is usually the one employee who either doesn't drink it or doesn't like it. So it is never strong enough. I have noticed that the "specialty" coffee now sold at truck stops is starting to get weaker than it originally was.

 

Starbucks...quad mocha latte yes I said quad...LOL grated white chocolate and semi sweet chocolate.
Worst I have yall beat where I work eeeekkkkkk it will walk with you down to your pod. Texas State prison coffee is BAD. I would say worse than the inmates we guard.

 

I don't know about a quad mocha latte, I usually get a venti Mocha frap with an extra shot (or two, occasionally).

And Roadkill, you're right. I have talked to many a truckstop employee while filling my thermos, and they're almost ALWAYS coffee haters. I guess I should just break down and buy my own coffee maker and coffee mill.

 

My favourite coffee here is Tim Hortons, but try get a truck anywhere near one! Sometimes if I am bobtail I manage to get one during the day.
Truckstop coffee... mmmm they are all nasty, especially the Esso bulk where the company cards work. Still buy it occasionally, and then remember why I dont like it!

 

Coffee always smells good. However, I could never stand the taste and ha.ve not drank any coffee since 1976

When it comes t truck stop coffee I will pick Pilots heavy caffine dark roast .... works alot .... mix in a bit of Rockstar Energy Drink and get going

I drink some of the refrigerator coffee from Starbucks but not that often .... dont like paying the high price for it .... standard coffee works for me

 

i love panera icy mochas.....yum, also starbuck vanilla bean frappacino.....as for dark hot coffee i dont care too much for it, ill have it on occasion

 

The hook has the worst coffee ever. It has no coffee flavor at all, I have been to most and they are all the same, worst coffee ever. I have to fuel there, and I can get my coffee free, I drive to another truck stop to get my morning java, ya it's that bad.
