I didn't mean to jack other thread about dispatching . I was wondering what would be the percentage you are willing to part out hiring the dispatch under your own authority ( if any )?! I have my own authority and have someone just doing dispatch for me ( booking the loads , dealing with brokers , shippers , receivers )
I can imagine some run cross country and it should be easier to do it themselves , but i reload every day plus partials from time to time and i prefer to be concentrated on the loading/unloading , driving .
Just want to hear opinions , maybe someone is looking for dispatch ( my dispatch might help for very low fee 1-2 o/o with their booking for flat/step only ) , i dont mean to advertise , just promised to get more info and probably help her bit . No commercial interest for me .

I thought about expanding my business to include this a couple yrs ago but nobody wants to pay a high enough percentage to be worth it. Sorry, but 5% or under is peanuts.
shooter19802003 and Siinman Thank this. -
A lot of dispatch is sitting outside of usa where this is huge amount of money for them . Thats what @Vitkouski (im sure) and i using. Just want to hear other people opinions and numbers ... Landstar i believe is 25% or something ... I know its plates , insurance , ifta etc included
I also know lot of people paying 12-15% running under someone authority ( good and bad stories with rate conf photoshopped etc )Vitkouski and Midwest Trucker Thank this. -

3% when I use them...and in this market, it's a fairly easy job.

It all depends on what % of what. I would not mind using someone's dispatch in event of their more exclusive freight, regardless of whether is brokered or not. It is about how much more money I could get vs finding it on a load board myself.
Also, there would be some legalities to discuss such as power of attorney, terms of commitment, making the final decision as to booking, etc.
But I like to do it myself. It is more fun.Last edited: Jan 25, 2022
