Yessir. Stupid thing was that when I lost my plate while teaming they over-nighted one to us in French Camp, CA from Green Bay. They had me go to Maine and back twice before I ever got word that there was a new one waiting for me in Gary, IN when I was solo...

Unions aren't the answer, they create more problems than they solve.
The answer is....
If you don't like who you work for then quit.
If you can't find somebody you like to work for, then start your own company OR try a new profession.bigblue19, roaddawg92 and The Bird Thank this. -
I've suffered my share of abuse like most drivers. But honestly, of all the companies I've worked for the two worst were Teamster outfits ( as a "dependent contractor") next were all the milage companies. The best pay and treatment I've experienced had been with a revenue split company.
-
And they dont care if quit either because they have a room full of......errrrr I mean new recruits to fill your seat..

I had a dispatcher who would steal freight off the dock and
try to pin it on other drivers. High dollar stuff too (laptops, etc.).
Then O/O would come in low on fuel and he would sell it to them
for half price in cash under the table.
We had our own fuel island out back and he would give em the
fuel card for the pump when they gave him the money.
He raked in thousands and thousands of $$$$ off these scams.
Until they caught him and made him resign or be prosecuted.
So much for good intentions. -
Actually, I've seen a hot load, it was about 3000 degrees Farenheit
That took us a few minutes to put out... -
By the way, most relatively new dispatchers have NO IDEA how long it takes to get across any metro area at a given time of day. They have probably never driven much outside a 500 mi radius of their home. They actually need you to educate them. I have never held my CDL, and learned a lot from my drivers over the years.Gearjammin' Penguin Thanks this. -
