I am funny when it comes to drivers pretending they live some fairytale life.

There is something wrong here. An Arrest is not a conviction. If the charge was dropped then you do not have to mention it to anyone. If the facts are as you state, then sue the school that dismissed you. Personally, I need more information.

Wooly in NY and I'm sure there are other states that are the same, once you are arrested it goes on your criminal record. Even if there was not a conviction. The results show on the record if there was a conviction or not. I think his fact comes that it showed up on his record. Here, if you are not convicted, you have to have your attorney seal the record. If they do not seal it the arrest will show up for life even if there wasn't a conviction. He has it on his record and I assume that he believed it would not show up so he didn't divulge the info to the employer. Unfortunately it was not sealed and still shows up. Being so old I'm sure it will not cause a problem with other employers as long as the information about the arrest is divulged to a new company.

    Bob Dobalina Thanks this.

I have never been arrested so not sure how it works, but it seems that some applications for whatever tend to ask "Have you ever been arrested". Now I do understand that if you have been, then you should truthfully answer Yes. If it was a case of the authorities realizing they had the wrong guy before charges were even filed (say when the cop got you back to the station and ran your prints) and then release you without charge, wouldn't you still have to state that you have been arrested?.

If it was for something big like rape or murder that would be a seriously black cloud hanging over your head for the rest of your life...all because of something you didn't do and were never charged with.

Answer the questions honestly... Have you ever been convicted of a misdemeanor or a felony? No

Have you ever been charged with or convicted of a drug related offense? Yes

In the Last ten years have you ever been... No

Read the question and and answer what it asks.

I understand that, but if the question is Have you ever been arrested? and you answer yes, for Murder, rape and robbery, how fast will your application be flying before it hits the trash can?. ;)

That would depend on the company and the circumstances, bit either way, it is better than lying about it IMO

big don, moose, fajo - do u just post rude comment to threads, or do ever offer advice? have you had a day off in 4 months? do you spend all of your time driving in the northeast and take it out on people in forums by berating them? wow. i won't say anything about those comments again, but i had to mention it ONCE.

to the ones with intelligent replies, i was not arrested. i was driving and had 3 people in the car. 1 of the passengers in the back seat had marijuana on him, they arrested him, and also gave me a ticket. i went to court, the judge reviewed my history (NO criminal history of any kind) and dismissed the ticket. it took 15 minutes, and it never came up until recently.

did anyone read my question? i have every intention of telling the next company i apply to exactly what happened with that charge, that wasn't the question. i was simply wondering if i should not say anything about having gone to the first school and getting disqualified. if they can't find out why would i even tell them about the disqualification? why would you bother to take the time replying with opinions on everything under the sun, when you have no advice relating to the post? for the others, thank you for your input, i appreciate it.

pretty simply question really. i am just looking for advice, not rude "super-trucker" know-it-alls. this is a forum to help drivers right? or did i overlook a "talk show option enabled" button?
