Borgg,
Get on the phone with your recruiter. Tell them that you filled out the app truthfully, but you are wondering if the failed non-DOT drug test will be a problem.
Your app was approved based on the info you put down and a DMV report. Background checks take a bit longer, and employer verification can take a month or more. Ultimately, they WILL find out about the failed tests, and if you are deemed to have submitted a false application, you will be disqualified from employment. If you are out on the road, you will be routed to the nearest truck stop and taken off the truck. It'll be up to you to find your own way home.
So far, you haven't burned any bridges. The application you filled out online is NOT your formal application to Prime; that's done early in the orientation process. (It needs to be hard copy, with an original signature.) It's best to get everything like this sorted out BEFORE you head to Springfield. Prime will (and does) escort people to the curb in front of the Campus Inn for submitting a false application.
It could be that Prime can't do anything about the failed tests, since they were not DOT-specific. OTOH, you may find that you aren't employable in the industry for a few more years.

Bull crap don't take a grey dog across the country only to be told you are going back home. Nothing more embarrassing. Find out from the safety department yourself. They are the ones who approve drivers. Recruiters just get them in the door.

Theres other companies to start with, simply get on the phone. Your right dont lie it would postpone the inevitable.
Not hiring a driver over old drug test from pot maybe seeming like bs to you right now. But history shows people tend to repeat themselves.
Pot being legal at a state level in lots of states makes it kind of weird, but that being said trucking is governed by federal law.born&raisedintheusa Thanks this. -
Calling safety will most likely result in being referred straight to the recruiters. Call your recruiter today, and fess up before you get on the bus. Finding something like this in your past without previous disclosure will be treated as if you were trying to hide the issue, which is disqualifying. From the Prime website:
Safety Issues for Applicants into our CDL Program
- No failed or refused drug or alcohol test in the last four years (this includes DWI's, DUI's and BAC's).

Good luck in your future endeavors!born&raisedintheusa and Dinomite Thank this. -
Don't worry; you want a trucking career, it's there for you. Dozens of good companies out there.
Goodwill Industries pays for CDL school. Maybe they still have funding available. Dig through the website and find the information on that.
You're good to go one way or another.born&raisedintheusa and borgg Thank this. -

Where the Problem lies is after you Sober up and wanna pursue DRIVING a 80,000 pound vehiclevdown the Highway and could possibly hurt yoself or kill someone else family, because, you think YOUR IN THE TRUCK BY YOURSELF and No ONES WATCHING and take a "puff of the stuff"THEN A ACCIDENT HAPPENS, and you cant turn back the hands of TIME,thats the MISTAKE
Wait 2 more years and then reapply, and LEAVE THE WEED ALONE ALLTOGETHER,then youll be able to pursue the Trucking Industry, this isnt the average regualar 9-5 where you punch in do 8 hours then go home, this INDUSTRY REQUIRES CONSTANT AND I DO MEAN CONSTANT AWARENESS,CONSTANT ATTENTION,even when your just sitting in your TRUCK,theres so much going you MUST BE AWARE OF,and weed slows down all REACTION TIME,REGARDLESS IF YOU THINK U CAN respond quick enuff
But reapply in 2 more years and continue to keep your record clean youll be fine
Recruiters only get you pre approved,to get you there based on pre-requsites
You still have to get past employers verified, pass d.o.t.physical,road test, sleep apnea test
So your still not completely out of the woods
Best of luck to you!born&raisedintheusa and Lite bug Thank this. -
Western Express, Carolina Cargo and CR England wouldn't worry about that failed drug test......we actually just fired a guy who worked for all 3 of them for showing up to work half drunk and he went right back to England with no troubles at all!
born&raisedintheusa and borgg Thank this. -
