Dissapointed. Need a pep talk/advice

    All I can say is that I never saw a penny difference in hauling hazmat, or hauling a "regular" load. Didn't matter if it was TL or LTL. Didn't matter if it was "hazmat" in name only, or some pretty serious stuff...

    You are not the only 1 Big Don. I also never receive "extra" pay for hazmat loads. I have worked for 4 companies in the past 17+ years and not 1 paid me more for hazmat.

    The benefit to having a hazmat endorsement is you can haul pretty much anything and therefore you do not sit as long waiting for a non hazmat load.

    In the past I have actually been re-routed with non hazardous loads to swap with drivers who did not have hazmat on their licenses. The other drivers got stuck with my left overs and I got fresh runs with more miles. Usually it works out in my favor with longer miles and a fatter paycheck by the end of the week.
