Big difference between O/S-O/W loads and dry van. It's hard to compare the two as far a making money.

How much can you realistically gross in a year?

True. The point I was trying to make was not all loads get posted. I have talked to many BCO's pulling dry vans, and some are pulling for rates that are really good. The #1 thing to remember about freight at L/S is the loads/rates that are posted only tells part of what is really being hauled by BCO'S. Alot of the posted stuff is also on the brokerboard.............

What I don't understand is someone getting stuck in a bad rate area, and taking a 1500 mile load that cost more to haul than the load pays. Take a series of short, high paying loads, to get you in the good freight area. Yes it will take a few days longer, but that is better than losing $800.00-$1000.00 on long, cheap freight. I would much rather haul short mile van for $3.00 a mile instead of long for .75

Short stuff on a van can be set up back to back with very little dead head with a little work.

Thats a impossible question to answer because what home time/rate per mile/how many miles/ect. will you be looking for? What equ. do you have? And endless other questions. How many months are you going to hunt Elk and not work? That Elk hunting is top priority in my book.

If I were to ever buy another truck and was to stay on the road, I would go back to them.

My time was when there was limited internet availability.

    Remember Park and View?

No real good phone package back then and many uncovered areas.

The annoying pager you had to have.
