Dixie Truck Stop - I-55 Exit 145 Illinois

    I agree the shower water has way to much softener in it, it does suck... I've only had to shower here a couple of times being that I'm out of Chicago...

    that is the old Dixie Truckers home.....They also had a location in Tuscola,il... Now Pilot bought it.not ever the same service.Food was good.(maybe still is). only problem now..Every #### truck on 55 stops there .since they changed to Pilot. Bet you guys dont remember the Hen House restaurants?

    Pilot did not by the old truckstop in Tuscola. It closed many years ago when they closed all of the locations except for the one in McLean, IL.

    there is a Hen House off of interstate 74 at route 47 in Illinois.... good food for sure

    Boy, do I remember The Dixie Trucker Home, would stop in there couple times a week when I was hauling beer from Milwaukee to the St. Louis area and back. Do they still have there history about Route 66 on the wall?.....

    They have a lot of decorations on the wall. Plus, they kept the old Dixie sign.
