    Some small outfits it's a job requirement. Think "out of the super-carrier box." I would say your mindset is an asset to an employer.

    KO is right. However not many drivers are thinking "outside the box". The only box they think is out there says "swift" or "werner".

    FYI: My EOB is set up with the 45 day maint. schedule. Dispatch cannot dispatch the truck or trailer if it's due and they are notified a week before it's due so they can plan and route accordingly.

    And my carrier does not allow me to work on the truck at all. It's home shop, next shop or next terminal.

    I'd like to think I could be helpful and/or resourceful for my company but I will certainly follow policy. BTW, what is "EOB"? Sorry, I'm still a newbie.
