Do concrete mixer drivers usually get tips, or only pretty girls?

Let's say getting tipped were common, what are you going to do differently to get tipped?
As a general rule, chasing down every rumor or unusual event to see if it's true is a losing strategy, especially when social media makes creating fake stories easy. If something is true more than one person will be experiencing it and reports of the unusual event will not ONLY come from the 1 person getting the benefit. The UFO people work hard to get their version of the event into all of the media while the truth of the event only comes out over years in the local press or during the deposition of a participant 9 years later.

Did you know Gullible is the only word not printed in any English dictionary? Why do you suppose that is? Who benefits?

This from my Random House Websters Dictionary. I suppose you were testing how gullible those who read your post are?

She's making duck lips in the thumbnail smh.
I received tips all the time for assisting with offloading while I was on the dedicated account with JB. As far as Ready-mix goes, I was offered a tip to go directly to a client's home and dispense the concrete. It's not unheard of. I didn't even have to make ducklips at the clients to get one

So is this common for concrete mixer drivers to get tipped, or is this only for pretty college aged girls? Lol

It's not common, but it's not unheard of. Two maybe three times in 27 years.

It's very cool to hear of how common tipping actually is in the trucking industry when you start getting into more niche areas of the business. I'm glad I made this thread, I had no idea.

To be frank, I didn’t watch the video. I just know that personally as a receiver of deliveries, when I get a call shortly before arrival, followed by a quick and orderly off load, the professionalism is appreciated and I tip. Have also called to say delivery was great to suppliers office. The contrary to that is when you get some balloon head, no tip and no call. The professionalism is what is appreciated. A timely flow of construction materials on site can save thousands of dollars in down labour time. Paying for 6 to 8 guys to “clean the site again/it was supposed to be here 3 hours ago” is something I always will hear about from above.

The other side is when I do snow removal, sometimes I get tips, sometimes no.Doesn’t change my performance. We bill a lot, service is top notch regardless

Whew,,:sad11:I thought for sure you guys would have torn me a new corn chute for my remarks about women in a mixer, let me make clear, it's not that I doubt their ability, and perhaps not man-haters, but more to prove to themselves( and the world) they can do anything a man can do. It's just women are so good at things men don't do, like saving lives, even make excellent soldiers, why would she waste her time in a concrete mixer? I just don't see women infatuated with their toe nails, are going to do one of the most demanding, and dangerous jobs. How many women coal miners are there? Not to say it's not possible, say, the dad runs the concrete biz, or a spouse, but very few women dream of driving a mixer.
While it's true, unlike a box, it's great to be on the other side of that, where the crew is literally waiting for you, I can count on 1 finger ( guess which one) how many warehouses were waiting for me. It's similar to flatbed or a tank, but it doesn't come easy. It's physically demanding work, I doubt a peanut like that could handle. Mixer drivers were always these big burly, good old boy types for good reason.
Tips,,:laughing-guffaw:good heavens, not something I ever encountered in the construction biz, and I'd say half of my life I was around road construction, and the women then were the flag girls and coffee go-getters, that I highly doubt went on to a mixer. Hope that settles that,,,some.:salute:

A job is a job. Plenty of men do it that shouldn't and I'm sure plenty of women do it that can do it just fine.
