thank's for everyone's view on weed but can someone tell me if this will not be a problem in the future as long as i stay clean.

 

You need to talk to someone at the first trucking school and find out who they reported to if anyone. It solely rests there whether or not you are facing an issue of the second trucking school. If they didn;t report it to any reporting service that the trucking companies are likely to use, then it's a non issue. if they did report it, then you need to find out where they reported it and investigate the procedures. You are looking at a local issue, and there are no standard practices that anyone can tell you of that govern what they did with the info and who might have the reports of the positive test.

I dont know about the testing positive but if you were ever busted for weed you can forget about Maverick because their insurance wont touch you, EVER.
Some companies are a little more forgiving but not many. I have a misdemeanor possession charge back in 2004 and I called BTC in Memphis and told them I have that charge on my record and they told me that they didnt see where that would be a problem. So do your research and make some calls.

 

i never got arrested for drugs but when i was 18 i got arrested with a weed pipe.Im 29 now and being so long ago my recruter that it would not be an issue.

Give it some time. I think you can forget about maverick try Southern Cal as they have regional out of Orlando. Roehl might be another possibility too. FYI, I do not think BTC hires in FL. I know JB Hunt does, Swift, US express, CFI/Conway, and others.

I think you have a chance but stay clear of it. Talk is cheap but your actions show. You are off to a good start and I think you have a 70/30. Look for positive things to do till you can go back to get your CDL. If you need help, PM me with your e-mail. I only live 20min away.

Well all I can say is that every app you fill out will ask if you have "EVER" failed a drug test. So right there is a problem cause any trucking co can find anything on you if they dig hard enough. Who paid for the drug test?? This is were you might get caught. What is there policy when someone fails a drug test who knows. I'm not sure about this so I could be wrong. I must say that if you did indeed stop for good then I'm proud of you for doing so. It took a lot of guts to admit your problem and what happened.

I wish you the best and even if this does not work out for you just remember that you are a bigger and better person for taking control of your addiction. Might ask the school and see what they say maybe ask them for some advice. Don't know till you ask right!! Well good luck in life I wish you the best.
