I still have my Cobra 29 NW LTD Classic that I bought six years ago. I can hear everyone on it just fine, but someone was trying to speak to me and he couldn't hear me when I replied. I noticed when I click on the talk button, the red RX/TX light comes on, but the little RF meter on the left doesnt move like it used to. So what do you think is the problem? Thx
UPDATE
Ok weird, I just turned the SWR CAL knob all the way to the left then all the way to the right now the little RF meter is jumping again when I click the talk button. I suppose it's fixed now? I tried asking for a mic check but no one uses CB unless they are stuck in a backup.
Do I need a new mic?

That is due to technology, books on tape, and a general lack of respect of the new gen drivers.

If you see the little needle wiggle around when you talk chances are pretty good the microphone is functioning properly
TruckRunner Thanks this. -
Oh that's right it wiggles at the sound of your voice too? If so mine isn't doing that. Mic problem perhaps?
-
It could be a mic problem, the cobra mics aren’t very good quality wise. Also make sure your mic gain knob is turned all the way up (fully clockwise). Sounds like some of your pots are getting dirty and may need to be cleaned.BTShepp Thanks this. -
If you mean the RF Gain knob it's all the way up.

I have Dynamike all the way up too
-
Sorry I should have said Dynamike. The easiest way to test it would be to try a different mic if you or a friend has one to try. At least that would rule out the mic being the problem if you still have no modulation.

Yeah I still haven't had a chance to fix it. Are all the CB shops gone? I used to see and hear them at just about every large truckstop
