Many shippers /receivers require steel toed boots . Some require long sleeved shirts . The carrier should know the requirements . We had a driver fired for going to a guard shack in a tank top , shorts , and sandals .

All of the above and while you're at it, get a hard hat and a pair of nice safety glasses, you wont need them often but when you do.... better than wearing the community pair. Even if you're NOT A flat bedder.

Just look around the truck stops, spot the dirty nasty guys and remember that they might have worn that hat! OH NO!
-
Ever been told you need fire resistant coveralls in chemical plants ? -
Na, I dont have hazmat, that must be fun though
-
At Tyson in Dakota City, Ne. you'll need a WHITE hard hat. RED--maintance, YELLOW--formans, GREEN--shift managers & higher ups, ORANGE--quaility assurance. And yes you will need a pair of steel toe boots if you go in the dock area.
-
Listen up here. With all the bull schidt we have to wade through every day boots are a must. Hip boots even better!
-
Rickg I have Hazmat. I haven't been told I need fire resistant coveralls. Yeah I know I jinxed myself. I have been required to watch a video once at a chemical plant in La.

I can tell ya it will only take walking thru one t/s parking lot that has ankle deep water in it when it rains to make you stop and think ... Think about all the lazy truckers that just hang it out in the same parking lot and take a leak
... then think about all that being caught up in the water that is now cascading into your tennis shoes and squish around your feet
... Yepp, good pair of waterproof boots makes life more sanitary
