Hello, I'm a semi retired Driver looking for part time otr in NH. I was told from a company I applied at that I don't need Eld if I only run 8 days in a month. Truck is a 07 Freightliner and the run starts in NH goes to Maryland (drop+hook) take that load up to Syracuse (drop+hook) then back to Maryland (drop+hook) back to Syracuse (drop+hook) then back to NH. Doesn't sound right to me. I thought that only applied to short haul runs that start and return to same location. Thanks for any help given.

"Drivers who use the short-haul, timecard exceptions are not required to keep records of duty status (RODS) or use ELDs."

Is there a definition for a short haul?

Just found the definition so ignore my question.
