    Ok, which one were you?

The idiot losing personal stuff out an open luggage door on I90 I saw this week.. that wouldn't answer the CB. OR

The numbskull on I94 that didn't get the CB brake check warning on a blind corner with stopped traffic due to road work... almost taking the ditch to avoid a collision.

    Wonderful

I heard some thick drawl come over the box. Something about where are they shootin' ya in Chicago, and then about another minute of what I have no idea.

When he finally stopped I told him, "Don't worry. Evening rush headind downtown or south on 294 and you will not even get up to even half the speed limit!"

I keep mine on low volume for the most part.

At truck stops in larger cities you can always find 2 fine gentlemen having a "disagreement" via CB.
...or a guy selling porn DVDs or the classy ladies selling the real deal.

Lots of cars do travel without CB's but they are traveling under different circumstances and............how much easier is it to get out of a jam with a car vs. a semi truck? There are times when you will neither feel that there is something wrong with your truck and there are times when someone wont magically honk at you to let you know something is wrong. I don't think CB's are obsolete in the industry, I think responsible drivers that can't keep their yaps shut are becoming a thing of the past.

I started with a $40 midland and the stock Cascadia antenna. did ok but i didn't stand a chance of actually having a conversation with anybody but myself. i upgraded to a 4' 5/8 wave Wilson antenna about 3 months ago and could actually pickup some pretty good distance but still couldn't talk much for getting walked on. ungraded to a cabra 29lx last week and love it. i can talk over the rambos with cheap radios and can have picked up one guy that was about 100 miles away(that was in part due to his radio being tweaked out to max and god knows what else he had in it, like to blew my ears off). still having some swr issues but am working on getting them under control. start cheap and work your way up. its a lot better on the bank account.

CB is still useful for certain customers who still assign docks on over the CB and the weatherband has saved my ### afew times in tornado situations

And when you're bored out of your skull at the Truckstops you can always troll something up and get abunch of other drivers screaming at eachother or stroke the lot lizard and shine guy around

i agree, i noticed that squelch knob will tune out a lot of the idiots and still let you hear the important stuff. if only i could find a way to block out the real deal in west Memphis i would be ok.

"Steering wheel holder", what a lame phrase. Let us in on your secret on driving without holding the steering wheel!

The phrase refers to those that know no more than how to hold the wheel.
