It's been said before and I'll say it again. Save your money and find a different job. There are people with no criminal back ground that can't get hired as a driver right now. You would be at the bottom of every list. And thats if they will even talk with you.
Do I stand a chance?

Well, I know it's not going to be easy. I'll try calling around. That was also a great idea about talking to people who are buying trucks. I've had to learn not to give up easily. Hopefully, if I bug enough people someone will give me a chance.

It never hurts to try just keep looking and hopefully something will come up for you. Best of luck.

Let me address this felony stuff. You can get a job in trucking. You just have to do it differently then the other folks. All the regular paths are closed to you. Why because they can. Swift, TMC, Werner, those oranges things, none of those companies are going to hire you. What you have to do is look for a small local company that is not in the trucking business that has a class A truck and needs a driver. I started by going to a temporary company that got me a job driving a truck that delievers roofing supplies to builders. It was a mack daycab with a 48 foot flat bed. Low wages but it was a job driving. After getting my feet soaking wet, I found the job I have now. Small company. They dont care about my felony. They care that I can do the job. If you have paid your price to society then ..... those companies that want you to keep paying it.
Oh, I am sorry to have put Werner in the list of companies that are anti felon. They did give me a very nice key chain D ring combination.
One more thing. Hollywood called me today. They are doing a scary movie based on my felony story. Looks like it could be as big as the Halloween or Friday the 13th movies. Look for it in the theaters soon. "Man Misses Two Childsupport Payments" Word is Brad Pitt is playing me and Rosanne is playing my exwife. -

I'll bring the popcorn, ..sounds, like good entertainment. -
The temporary agency that I used was Flexible Staffing. I believe it to be a small independant agency. They are not a driving agency, just your local shop. Driving Temporary agencies were looking for someone with at least one year over the road. Flexiable Staffing did not work with drivers exclusively so they did not know anything about DAC reports and those things which work against a driver. All they knew was they didnt get paid unless I did.
The main point is do not give up. Nothing that is easy is worth it. And yes, I am talking about my exwife. -
Thanks for all the info guys. Much appreciated.
