Works well. Quietest rig I’ve had.

My own coax plus antenna mounts. My power leads to BATT.

New truck and new company since that post. Starting over on a 579 Pete.

Like inline electrical noise filters? Yes, kinda. They should eliminate any vehicle ignition/alternator noise. But other noise like fluorescent lights, power lines, or anything with a ballast, not really. No esape from that.

Not the ferrite beads they are almost useless. Just walk away.

    Found that website. About $40.

And a 2007 post of yours on CBRT about installing them on all your vehicles.

I take it the recommendation stands?

And I see you’ve had your tenth year anniversary here. Where’s the cake?

A DSP Speaker or Module removes most of the noise. Conversations you thought were noise themselves are now intelligible. One varies the amount of filtration.

The balance between RF Gain, Squelch, Radio Volume and then Speaker Volume plus Filtration can take awhile to sort. That’s for a given set of conditions. (I don’t mind changing things on the fly; for the most part it’s just urban versus rural).

BHI or West Mountain Radio. $200 range.

Some ferrite products work well. The rings I’ve used have shown improvements. Cut the DC noise from a Norcold refrigerator compressor to almost nothing. Before, it was bad enough for me to turn off the radio.

Although I don't have it hooked up anymore (sold the Suburban, but kept the filter!) It worked for me with electrical noise coming in threw the power wires...

won't do much good tho if the noise is coming in from the antenna as a signal.

"Assuming" David hasn't changed anything on the filters, I would still recommend them for noisy power wires...sorta hard to recommend something tho that you haven't used or bought in quite a while.

But no disappointments after years of use. That says something. Thanks.

none what so ever...It actually did what it was advertised to do!

Still have it around here somewhere, just not hooked-up since I don't have any issues anymore with electrical noises coming in threw the power wires...Another one that sorta surprised me that it worked, was the "NF-40 Bandit" noise filter... Bought on off ebay years ago for another vehicle, and it actually did what it was suppose to do too... There's also one called a "NR400 Noise Clipper" I herd worked good, but never tried one.

    That's the one I have...it's big...like 5 or 6" long if I recall.about the size of a toilet paper roll.

    rabbiporkchop and Slowmover1 Thank this.

A lot of places that use LED lighting for signs and canopys generate rf noise. Some vehicles have noisey LED power modules. A friend bought a new GM pickup last year says his noise went up when he turned on the lights. Some trucks with a lot of LED's I can hear noise level pick up a quarter mile away. All these are noise picked up by the antenna and power line filters would do no good.
