You guys are right on with the above posts. Mutual professionalism begets mutual respect...too many drivers out there that are clueless of this....of course there is the rare occurance of an unproffesional LEO. When that happens you probably gotta grin and bear it...
Do not go texas!!!

^This is true. It is also true of those on the badge wearing side of the fence. Because to my mind, tying up a driver for an more than 15-20 minutes for an roadside inspection is totally disrespectful on the part of the LEO. Unless there are obvious red flags, spending the time to run point-to-point mileages or check receipts is something that should be left for the audit stage, not the roadside. They know that they are screwing up your schedule and logbook by holding you that long, and too many just don't care.
Fewer and fewer are the quick stops to look at your book and bol, and let you be on your way. It's been a couple years, but I've been in and out of the shed @ Truckee in less than 30 minutes, and that was a full and thorough level I. I can deal with that, 45 minutes for a level III because it takes twenty plus minutes for some no-typing fool to do 3 minutes of paperwork doesn't sit quite as well.
But it is convincing me that I really do enjoy sleeping at home every night. -
Remember, if you're going to play in Texas, you have to have a fiddle in the band!

"So Far So Good.." , That was a Bryan Adams tape that got me in a lot of trouble, particularly the song "Run to You"

So, if i were to say to the cop: myself, if i had a premonition that a fellow was going to sucker punch me in the mouth, but i decked him first. I believe, in Court, i would be looking pretty stupid...(big toothy grin), stupid indeed, (chewing gum motion). Premonitions have no basis for action within a Court of Law.
