I have dealt with the folks at the Ganado, TX location for 3 years and never had a single problem. Carlos, the manager, is a stand up guy. I have had my oil changed there at least 35 times and NEVER ONCE did they do anything wrong. I am sorry, but I call total BS on this one. They even make you go out to the shop and start the truck and tell them the oil pressure.
So did the engine blow up in their bay, or while you were driving it down the road??? -
Every place I've had my oil changed has had ME start the truck and check the oil pressure.
Sounds kinda shady to me. -
driver come start your trk. please.
Ok. start it up and floor it hard. oh ###### no oil pressure at 1500 rpm. -
Geez people...this stuff does happen...TA forgetting the oil, Wal-Mart not tightening lug nuts, probably even Midas forgetting the muffler.
People make mistakes...and they usually don't wanna pay for them when they do.Spacecoast, FloTheWaitress and Logan76 Thank this. -
I have never had my oil changed at a TA or any other truckstop where they started the truck for any reason. They have ALWAYS showed me the dipstick, THEN asked me to start it and let it run to check pressure.
scottied67 Thanks this. -
why wasnt the 23k paid to the lease co. used to repir the engine?? seems like t/a has already paid for the goof up. sounds like he wants a big payday for "lost wages"
again, why would they pay more aftey already paid 23k? i guess you lost income for the last 10 months? dont think that boat will float/ did they not ask you to check a oil and start it? standard t/a procedure everywhere -
The heads up is duely noted. It is possible to have a mistake anywhere. That part isn't what bothers me, but the self insured part is a red flag. The fact that they covered it up is down right wrong!
Note to self- use caution when dealing with T of A.Asphalt Anarchist Thanks this. -
I'd avoid T/A's entirely,,, but unfortunately that's who my carrier is contracted to buy fuel from. -
You should pull the truck behind you while you was walking back to FL. I never give them my keys for an oil change, they get me to start the truck and check oil pressure when the job complete. you could keep it quite set the truck on fire and bingo you won, or sell it to a chop shop and report it stolen.
