You should do it the way the bossman wants it done. TMC annoys me too.

When one pallet is higher than the one next to it and they’re not being wedged together. The first bundle on the lower pallet has no securement. See it all the time not with just shingles

Or they're arranged so that there are some on top that are not under strap.

To fix this you could either use big V boards, throw more straps or rearrange bundles. In this case a picture would be worth a thousand words

B4265A01-E184-4B43-A3D8-B0D25A7DAEA9.jpeg many drivers will just throw a single strap with the standard edge protector in the middle of the pallet leaving the single bundle unsecured.

I have just about rolled that flat bed of shingles a time or two. Refer to my post about Jersey specifically ABC Supply at Route 130 off S. Chester Ave. Those loads generally were split 10 and 6 on the deck and then each group got the necessary 2x4's 8 feet long tied together on the corners top length wise and all straps over the top. More than adequate to keep everything on the deck.

Well I can’t say I’ve seen to many pallets of shingles that are different heights, rearranging that top layer wouldn’t be a problem for strapping purposes then putting them back when unstrapping.

Most pallets are at different heights since the plants double or triple stack them so it’s just do to compaction 1” or so.
Yeah flipping that bundle isn’t all that bad, unfortunately we have a bunch lazy ### drivers out on the road that won’t do it.

    cke Thanks this.

I always took the single bundle of shingles and placed it on top of the other three so it was centered. Move it back if they were stacking the pallets leave it if they weren't. I would uses two straps on front and two on back. I liked hauling shingles. If they let my strap while loading it took 15 min to load and strap. I used a small edge protector.
