Would it qualify for a class a cdl for a 26k gvw ihc durastar with a loaded tandem axle cargo trailer weighing about 19k pounds?

    Mike2633 Thanks this.

Any trailer over 10K needs a class A cdl.

In Idaho if you use that setup to get a Class A CDL you get a restriction on your license that says you CANNOT pull a standard 5th wheel style trailer. So you would be stuck with straight truck and pup style trailer... No traditional tractor trailer. Idaho started this in 2015 or 2016 I believe.

Only if the truck is over 26k or if the combined weight exceeds 26k

9900 pound truck and 14k trailer equals no cdl. Under federal rules.

See it all the time with fuel haulers. Straight truck and pulling tanker behind straight truck. Also with dump trucks

It is more work than it has to be-

With that setup- Now you need 2 sources of power in breakdown- A tractor to move that puppy

    I just assume 1 truck 2 trailers....

Kinda like 2 girls 1 ...........What was that?!?!!
