What’s your guys position on chains? My company says if you’re required to chain the weather is too bad to be driving.. that’s my saying too.
Do you Chain up, or pull over and wait?

Try being stuck going uphill when there should have been a chain requirement. Lights on sign.. But the sign never got turned on. Oh but wait then come to find out your chains are locked up, and you do not have a key.
What do you do? -
I've heard that some states like Wyoming don't do a very good job at clearing their roads in the winter time, and it's better to just chain up and roll than to try and tough it out and wait.
I've never had to do it myself, but the only places where chains are mandatory that I've been is in Wyoming, but it was in December last year before any real snow was on the ground. Not 2-3 weeks after I went through there, the I80 was shut down for days. -
