My company has their trucks detailed as well but when I switch I still try to leave the old one at least as clean as I found it.

If I switched companies or got upgraded to a new truck. I cleaned my stuff out and any trash. I did not scrub the floors but I would wipe stuff clean. I also never drilled holes or break the plastic dash. I never understand how a driver could get new truck and just drill holes to hook something up. I always wanted my truck to look new like the day I got it. It’s did not have to be spotless but something that a simple cleaning could fix when you doing 34 reset or whatever

Yeah, I don't expect to see a perfectly clean truck when a driver leaves, just pick up the crap from living in the truck, like any garbage that slips behind the seats or where ever, and make sure that everything is there that's supposed to be there (there is a checklist), and that's it. Most of the time, this is all that they do, but a few have gone overboard, with the floor so clean that you could eat off of it and so on. I had one driver who had OCD so bad that he would clean the vents and controls all the time. He left a box of cleaning materials he bought to detail everything like it was a high-end car. I should have realized how he was because his car was like it just came from the factory, I felt bad getting into it with my work clothes and not dressed in evening clothes.

It’s nice to know that there are still truck owners that won’t screw a persons paycheck on the way out. If that person does a reasonable clean on the way out.

It depends. I'd rather spend an hour cleaning the truck than get into a months long battle about being charged to clean the truck.

Last company was at before my current one, I basically detailed the truck before I quit. And I was not happy when I quit. I had been pretty substantially ripped off by this company and was ready to move onto the next. I still wash the truck and detailed it. I feel like it shows character and was my way of saying I’m not gonna stoop to your level even though you did me wrong. Probably didn’t matter in the end, but that’s just how I am.

Honestly i always try to leave the truck in good condition when i leave. I cant promise there wont be wear and tear. But ill grab trash wipe everything down and sweep vacume and mop it. Though im also a rock bucket so keeping it spotless is a fools errend. I settle for clean working truck.

My own rig i have a schedule. I dust with my air hose and/or duster daily. Vaccume/sweep every 3 days or as needed. Wipe down windows dash ect weekly, every other week i swiffer it and i try to get all the nooks and crannys i can also take my rugs out and beat them. Also do a deep clean with a mop and bucket and such every time im home and typically wash or replace my dollar store dirt catching rugs. And once every other quarter i pay for a detail service.

Again im a rock bucket so i get mud, dust and dirt everywhere constantly. But i TRY to keep it livable.

I just turned in my 2019 International LT for a new one, and yes, after I got all of my stuff out of it, I mopped and dusted. They’re still going to have it detailed, but the detailers won’t be cursing my name!
