Never have double clutched, though i guess ill have to learn to get my license. Being brought up on an R-600 with the 5 and 2, ill also have to learn how to get used to splitting gears.
Do you double clutch?

I float every gear, every time. Just always have. Even in the personal vehicles. My father has fits when I do it in his car!!

I have also heard of the practice referred to as 'slip-shifting' and 'speed-shifting', all describing the art of shifting gears without the aid of a clutch. -
I was taught how to double-clutch in school (1979) and already knew how to shift without the clutch.
I did a road test on a 2-sticker (4x4) car-hauler rig and remember that was the only road test where I became so frustrated that I quit double-clutching and float-shifted. I passed the road test.
I typically do not double-clutch, but now that I have been reading these posts, I'll probably practice over the next few weeks to brush up my skills.
Who will I impress with these skills? I'm an owner-operator - so nobody but myself! -

Yeah thats a nice video on the old Mack. Always wondered how the 2 stick model worked.

I float 99.9% of the time. The only time I'll double clutch is if I have to downshift on a downgrade, which I try to avoid, because it isn't really a good thing to do.

I float all the time except when going from 7H to 8L. For some reason I can't get it there in time or at the right time.

depends on how bored i am
