Trying to "float" the gears in my Jeep Wrangler. Trying to flip to the high side in same Jeep.
Also, I used to drive a truck that I had to use the clutch in to shift. Had a Mazda pu at the time. More than once would get off work and jump in pickup and try to slam the clutch thru the floor board. Different tension.
Do you find yourself making wide turns in your 4 wheeler?

the main thing i do is i find myself wanting to honk before i back up in my pickup truck
-
oh my god thats is so funny as my family is always breaking my chops on this same situation,,, "your not in a trcuk at the moment why so wide" i tell them " force of habit I guess" as well as another driver. always looking at the guages, listening for noises, looking at tires before i get back into truck, checking under hood and car before i go anywheres.... I guess its a good habit in a kinda funny way, at least we are trained in the proper procedures, at least if everyone did this not just truckers the roads would be a better place out there to drive.. correct.... and Ill continue to do it....

I'll swing wide... and totally forget that I've got a rearview mirror and windows.... Scared the bejezus outta my sister once by backing into a parking stall using my Pathfinder's side mirrors only.
I'll often end up turning on my wipers rather than turn signal.. cuz the controls are reversed...
Reflexively slow and move into the right lane when approaching scales.. Then I'll remember: DUh. 4wheels = no scale.
Reach for the C.B. when I feel the need to tell a driver something.. (moot now, after putting one into my 4x4)
End up inching forward when backing up.. (reverse in my truck is in the same position as 1st on my pathfinder)
Try to upshift into a nonexistent 6th gear
Sit and stare forward like an idiot because I've forgotten momentarily how to back a vehicle NOT attached to a trailer..
Ignore breaks in traffic that are more than big enough to nudge into...Unless you're in a big rig.
etc..Baack Thanks this. -
I don't make wide turns but I'll be ###### if I don"t grab for that yellow knob to pull it when i park. Every time!

I think this is hysterical!!
My husband does this ALL the time when he's home. We drive a nice, red, monte carlo SS. So, you can imagine being behind that and seeing a wide right turn!!
When he does it, I don't say a word. He realizes after he's completed the turn, while checking the mirrors and makin sure of his distance from the curbs! Silly!
I think it's "cute". Sorry!!

all the time. part of the nature of the job. ingrained in the brain.

I tend to swing pretty wide with my pickup truck especially when I have my big 10 ft lawn mower trailer on back.
I rolled though the scalehouse one time in my Transam. I was on vacation and had the cb on #### chattin and just rolled right in with the big trucks. After I hit the ramp my wife says " what the hell are you doing"?
I just laughed as I rolled by,while the officers inside looked at me shaking their heads. I got a little grief on the radio too.

Glad I'm not alone in making the sometimes "trucking" actions in my car. I too have watched curbs when making turns and reached for the parking brake...donned gloves to gas up...tooted the horn before backing...found myself heading onto the scale house ramp.
It's brainwashing I tell you! -
IF I had a brain to wash,
but I'm told I don't.
Considering I make wide turns, even on my
bicycle, I'm thinkin' those who doubt the existence
of a brain in my head, just might be correct.
Probably best that way, anyway.
What I'm actually told is, IF I had a brain.
I'd be dangerous.
