Parking a truck is not as easy as it seems let me tell you. Im a local driver which make me atleast 150% better at backing a truck than the average otr guy. With Jb i was put in a situation to back a trailer in a tight spot with expensive trucks and trailers everywhere and atleast 50 eyballs watching me i had fight my way into the spot.
As far as professionalism a few bad apples can ruin the bunch and thats what seems to happen.

You should hit 2500-2700miles/wk pretty consistently working 5 days or be right around 3000mi if you decide to work a 6th day.

Keep us posted once you get settled in after a few weeks.

I worked for J.B. Hunt for 4 years on there dedicated rite aid pharmacy account in Baltimore. That is the highest paying account J.B. has, average was $55,000 - $65,000. It was a day cab local job, and it was a good account for a time. Was making $.49 a mile and $33 a stop, averaging 3 stops a night.

I agree with most people that J.B. Hunt will screw you on your DAC report, when I quit they said "company policy violation" on my DAC. I never missed a day and was always doing extra work and they still screwed me. It makes it hard to find a job when they mess up your DAC.

I would just stress to be careful, it always looks rosy in the beginning, and recruiters and orientation staff will tell you whatever you want to hear. Good Luck!

Back in Eighties, early ninety's I worked for them. You would get 1200-1500 miles a week. If you got a load with decent miles, they would route you to a terminal where they would take the load, and then you would wait for a new load.
And, you would hear on the CB from Owner Ops about how JB was cutting their freight rates..Nowadays, I see O/O's running JB freight. Just funny to me. OMG how this industry has turned upside down.
Then, JB put freight on rails and fired or forced alot of drivers to quit or take lower pay to stay and run their freight off the trains. There is a lot of history and tales that old timers can tell you. It used to be the norm to see JB trailers in the ditch, turned over, etc..It was really sad.
This company has a long history of driver abuse. It is no joke. Ask the old-timers and you will get a lot of stories. Newbies don't know the history. They just think they are getting a good rate to run it off the rails. Look at those trains. That is freight that used to be driven by drivers. And JB said he didn't care if he made a dollar a day off every truck per day....driving down freight rates for the O/O's...and now ...oh well...It's just humorous to see O/O's delivering freight for the company they used to B..ch about for ruining their rates. There is a library of tales old timers can tell.

Did you make it through orientation EW2108 , alot of drivers don,t make it through. The 6 driving test,3 are in a van smith system, in Chicago there,s different boards, the wis. board has the biggest turnover. You know jb,s nickname , it,s no joke trailer tires are recapped 12-14 times the carcus is 10 years old. In Chicago it,s just a temp. job, for majority of the drivers. Safety preaches safety, while jb has the worst junk on the road. They can,t figure out why drivers are wrecking, drivers are laying on the steering wheel, fatiged, beat to hell, from driving nasty junk, while rushed for every second of there day, in the heavy traffic. I go to 13 railyards in Chicago, some are very tight, you have to go thru the ghettos with 18 in. deep holes all over the streets, NYC is nowhere near as rough, with a 34 hr reset net pay is 440 to 680 , you might hit 700 once in a while. crap pay, always repairing chasis, 10,660 lb box with 43,000 in it, the railroad sets the box on the pins, pins broke off, flat tires, chasis flips, etc You need thick skin to run Chicago rr yards, I like the crazyness of the inner city, but you bust your butt all day. There,s alot easier driving jobs, than innermodal.
