Or idle 50 percent roughly. I have a big issue with how modern is supposed to be better for fuel economy.
The fact is without a Apu modern is no different than pre emissions on fuel economy. And modern engine should not idle at all or near zero.
Next time I hear a driver say they get great fuel economy and idle I will call them a liar to their face.

A few companies say they stop using diesel APU because maintenance costs outweigh the driver comfort factor.
Seems to me that should just be factored in to the cost of doing business.
A few 0/0's posted they got a good deal on used APU's at www.apucenter.com

This is what my fuel mileage looked like before installing a generator and mini split AC.

And this is what it looks like now.

    I think your mislead bud.

I have a few new trucks with bunk heater only. In this middle of the summer heat idle ranges from 30 to 50 percent. I agree that with an APU fuel mileage would be higher, however without the new trucks do better then trucks just a few years old even.

The screenshots are from two separate trucks. Both 2020 T680 X15 with endurant 12 sp auto.

Your average mile per hour is extremely low. Been sitting a lot? Sometimes I wish I had APU’s but I don’t miss them having problems and not working that’s for sure.

What do you get when your driving? Normally average mpg ends up being about 1 mpg less then what the truck gets while going down the road. You should be getting high 7 to low 8 going down the road even with a full load.
