Please tell me in great detail! Thank you

Ok. This is a truck owner issue
DOT regs go by the manufacturer plate located under the seat. It matters not your empty weight. It matters not if it's plated as under 10k. You as the driver are facing a bunch of tickets, and all it takes is one bored cop, or state police, or DOT to do it.
You need to look at your drivers side seat base, from outside the van. The weights are listed there. If the GVWR on that plate is over 10,000 lbs you are easy prey.
Now you've gotten away with it so far, but I see the example being made weekly of drivers that don't know, at the side of the road, or forced onto a scaleExpeditor Thanks this. -
Only exception is a derated GVWR from the upfitter; its rare but possible. That would leave you with a whopping 1799 lb capacity in a cube
If your empty weight was accurate
-
Hmmmmmm I'll check the door in an hour. So what happens to them, the worst case scenario?
-
Who is the upfitter?
-
Who cares? You reap a bunch of expensive tickets! I said it's an owner issue cause they should KNOW THIS
Try looking up no logs to start, and they would leave you there at the side of the road unable to drive possibly. I'm not up on fines sorry
They would have a hit on their motor carrier report anyone could see for years -
Fancy name for whatever company took delivery of the chassis cab, and stuck a box on it
-
So all you can haul is 1800 lbs?
By the way, they won't take you. You have to be a fleet. -
Assuming he's driving derated. I predict over 10335 if not 12,000
If GVWR is over, he's regulated and that's a little more important
