    Taxes were so much easier in Nigeria. The auditor showed up, left a couple of days later with a new television or washer/dryer.

    Some companies offer e-mail and web use at a cost but no phone related activities. That cell phone can really save your arse. There's a spot in my driveway where none of the trucks I ever drove got signal while parked (due to trees) and I got stuck once after a solid 3 days of rain. We turned off our home phone years ago so that cell phone was what saved my arse because it was the only way I could contact my dispatcher to get me setup with a tow truck. Same could happen if your batteries die from the cold or your truck breaks down inside one of those warehouses you have to back inside and the metal building blocks the QC signal. KEEP YOUR CELL! You'll thank yourself one day for it.

    why Verizon at&t is just as good it all depends on where your at at the time been places only verizon worked and been places only at&t worked but all in all both seem to work in more than 90% of the time.

    BTW if you lived where I do you would go with at&t.

    Are you that cheap that you can't afford $40 a month for a cell phone?

    If someone is just starting out and is trying to get caught up, $40/month can be a lot of money. Has nothing to do with being cheap, simply different priorities for different people.

    * transflo app
    *Pilot ( and other T/S app's)
    * Google map & google Earth
    * MYDATTrucker app
    *Chase bank mobile app
    #the calander app that is already on my phone, I put everything on that calender. pickup/drop, miles we ran verses paid.
    # problem's with dispatcher on notes.
    #photo of receipts for that item we bought for the company truck... lord knows they like loosing receipts.
    # picture of seal that was broken when we got to the yard to pick it up

    and the thousand's of pictures of everyplace we have been, downloaded to my laptop of course.

    Oh lord...Facebook and all my forums and blog's...

    Of course I had the time to take those pictures, never drove...lol, but I sure was on the map app's....

    D.O.T app's/downloads, I'd get alerts about road closing/opening and construction... weather alerts. ( we got one in AZ about flash flood's up ahead, stopped at a little gas station with truck parking took his hour break, checked the D.O.T. site and found out the road had reopened about 15 min before, his break ended)

    I could go on and on... yeah, we needed a cell phone.

    I understand what you are saying and not trying to sound critical towards the OP but people seem to forget that tools costs money and this is one essential tool that may help save a life or prevent someone from getting hurt. I think it falls under that common sense rule.

    You must choose. But choose wisely. While the true phone will give you life, the false phone will take it from you....wait that's the Holy Grail
