That's incorrect. Previous 36 months requires disclosure of dates worked, all accidents, and all drug/alcohol incidents (failed tests, SAP, probable cause, etc.). From 3-10 years, they will only verify employment dates.

What LTL company? I'll let you know what they disclose and the method (we keep a database for this stuff).

Can you share that data base without getting in trouble?

They might get it elsewhere, doesn't change the fact a previous company, by law, has to supply it.

Probably not. Intellectual property, and all. It has been built over the years by the recruiting staff after going through all the steps in verifying employment. Any company not on the list is added with method, phone/fax numbers, email, point of contact, and date verified. Its ever-changing, as companies come and go (and get swallowed up by conglomerates) every day, but a great tool to give us a starting point on those who aren't listed as a Tenstreet provider.

    LilRedRidingHood and REO6205 Thank this.

a perspective employer wanting to check on a driver drug situation has the Drug Clearing House. PSP will give information on inspections and accidents. Hire Right will give information on about everything. Then just the other day I found out about "CLUE" so basically, a former employer really does not have to be contacted to get the necessary information.

That said, they can use a third party company (Hiterite, Indeed, etc) to supply the information. It has to have a minimum of information though. Not just dates.

What part of "by law" do you not understand?
Yes there are other ways to verify the information. Doesn't change the fact that by law said information must be provided by the previous employer.

Do you really think that all trucking companies abide by the law??? There are laws against discrimination, but it is goes on. And when it comes to employment information being relayed from one company to another, the communication is half=###, because of manpower This is the reason Hire Right and other credit reporting companies have grown in the past few years.

In my case it was a minor incident that my former employee said DOT did not recieve any communication about my termination. I have checked every report except CLUE which I'm working on. There is nothing in any other report.

    Grouch Thanks this.
