So I recently started thinking about running a dash cam, and was wondering how many other driver were running them and why (or why not). Also have they ever helped to prove your innocence, or screwed you by showing your guilt in any given situation? Thanks in advance for any and all input.

Edit: Oops... I screwed up the poll only one choice please. Thanks

Second Edit: Figured out how to fix the poll

If you are not running some kind of cam for your private use in case of trouble or actually potential for some form of slapstick entertainment from Swift and company etc. I don't know why.

A few moments of video will either clear you or be damning depending on what's on it after the smash.

I need to figure how to use a dash cam. And upload video. I only use my droid for a computer or a phone. I'm not up to date on much PC stuff.

Many Droid smart phones can use a microSD card for storage which is the same format most dash cams use. So you can just pop the card into your phone and upload.

Higher end dash cams have WiFi and phone apps where you can wirelessly download videos from the camera to your phone/tablet/computer.

I run a Viofo A119 V2 and like it. I press the center button and it protects the current video which is a hassle free way to capture dumb #### on the road. Easy install and included a super long cord and small adhesive cord holders to help route the cord.

I have a 90 dollar VIOFO g1-w piggy backed into my fuse box. Best simple dashcam with great capabilities.
