for a simple shower no, but if i leave the place a mess from shaving my head and face or if i worked on the truck and left is a complete mess then yes i will leave a tip from 2-10 bucks depending on the mess i leave behind. but for the most part no i don't since they charge the hell out of us for everything else. also around christmas i will leave a tip. i know what it is like to have a job where ends are bearly met.

Just as likely as I am to tip, I'm also likely to give the manager an earful for a shower that is sub-standard. Which is what I did the other day.

Manager just happened to be inspecting another shower as I was leaving, and I showed him what was lacking in the unit I just used. Nothing horrific, but certainly not acceptable. He offered to put the shower back on my card, but I've got like 6 on there now (we do a lot of partial fill-ups), so I politely declined.

@WoolyRhino - wait a min thought you drove a truck??? But by this statement "I tip the dealers at casinos", you can't be no truck driver; because we don't ever have any money to be at the casino's! LOL

Ok read this for a while and let it go--and like many of y'all the whole tipping thing IMHO has gotten out of hand--like the kid at the coffee shop that acts offended after I waited in line for 10 minutes--and then gave him $2 for $1.50 cup of coffee he poured me--and I don't throw the change in his cup!
But in this case(showers)I typically do not--but there are a couple of stops that come to mind--where they only have a few showers--and they are always spotless!!--and I stand and wait while one of their staff---BUST their BUTTS--as soon as one driver comes out--to make it perfect--then apologize for making ME Wait---Yes sir--I always leave a five in those!
    Just my $.02

I am not native to this country and althought i love it will all my heart i do not forget the place i came from and the things i have seen in all my years of driving trucks in four continents, i am very grateful to have a clean place with lots of warm water, a good mirror to shave, a clean potty to do my needs and a clean and warm towel to get dry, i thanks God for being able to do my job now in the United States and i am so grateful for this that i leave a $1.00 in the shower every time i do take a shower, i do know for sure that people who clean after you and me leave the mess in the shower do not make what we are making for a long shot, a dollar would not make you bankrupt, well it will stimulate these peolpe to do his job better and keep it clean for next time you need to use it, i do make exceptions however, if the shower isn`t clean enough i do not reward the ones who have not done a good job so they don`t see a dime from me, but i do tip in the showers and in the restaurant.

I always leave a dollar if it's clean. This is motivation. The min. wage they get is not even worth getting out of bed to go to work.

If they clean 10 showers an hour nice and clean and y'all tip they make $10/hr on top of their min. wage. If they leave the last persons DNA behind they only make min. wage.

My tip gets you your clean shower.

Showers have improved greatly since I started so I know the difference and appreciate a clean one.

Think of how down on your luck you have to be to even take a job cleaning truckstop showers. These folks are trying to do the right thing. You guys who have a beef with high truckstop prices aren't thinking it through. The shower cleaner doesn't share the corporate profits, you cheap dummies!
