Is Trucker Path app the goto for route planning? I was hoping to go OTR and during my interview I mentioned that I would use this app for preplanning routes and they seemed content that I mentioned this app.
is it that good and trust worthy for mapping and planning routes OTR?
Any con’s or pro’s you can mention about it? Any other recommendations for new OTR drivers for preplanning routes, what truck stops to use, etc?
Do you use/recommend Trucker Path app?

I dont stay out over night much. I'm home most nights. Only reason I use it is to find a place to stay if I am not sure of the options.

i use the free version sometimes to see if the WB Hope, Ar scale is open or if I have to go around it. That's about it.

It's okay but I do get frustrated by errors that the navigation makes from time to time. I leave reviews and do other things to get points so that I can use their navigation for free, otherwise I would not pay for it. The truck parking availability feature is what I actually get the most usage out of.

How do you plan your trips and know for sure you are safe going to a location with certain roads and/or bridges prior to getting there?austinmike Thanks this.

Gee, I use a map book and a caulk line.austinmike, snowlauncher and Feedman Thank this.

Trucker Path is OK IF YOU PAY FOR A SUBSCRIPTION. Even then it's OK, not always right. Use a truck GPS. Trucker Path, if you don't pay for a subscription just gives you directions appropriate for a car, not a semi-truck and trailer.
I used both Trucker Path and my Rand McNally truck GPS. I left Trucker Path running on my phone almost all day, every day. You can keep signing up for a free-trial subscription but you need a new email address for each free trial. Look online or YouTube to learn how to create unlimited email aliases. Trucker Path is awesome once you learn to use it and don't take what it says for gospel truth.
Also, screwing with the screen while suing Trucker Path as you drive is a really bad ticket, almost as bad as a DUI. So keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel.austinmike Thanks this. -
Check the front of the Rand McNally Motor Carrier Road Atlas for any truck restricted roads. EVERY state has a list of those rstricted routes in the front of that book. It's your job to check that list, not just assume your phone r GPS is right. No cop throws away a ticket when you say "but I was just following my GPS".

Well I would pay for a subscription if I am using it that much and planned to. That’s the correct thing to do.austinmike Thanks this.

Yes, I read another thread on this site about this and planned on getting one of those. The 2025 laminated one is $56 on their site. Was thinking in planning I would use a combination of Trucker Path, Google maps with satellite view, and the hard cover map. Between those 3, I think I could plan accurately and safely.austinmike, nextgentrucker and snowlauncher Thank this.
