I've seen some thing like that in my flatbed days. I forget where tho, they say that memory is the first to go.

I thought the memory was the second thing to go? But what was the first?

Just what a driver needs, a glitch in that setup so you can't get loose when you're done.

I've never seen this type of d/l either. What I have had happen is the lock that hooks to the DOT bumper refuse to unlock. The thing just plain malfunctioned, and it took the company that installed it several hours just to get there, then several more to take it apart so I could leave.

I agree with Roadmedic that this one looks like it could do some tire damage if you aren't careful when you back in. But then you should ALWAYS be careful when you back in.

I used to have to go to a place that had the bumper lock, very tight to the dock, no "guiding lines," and the lot itself was off kilter with the building. You had to be pretty much exactly square to the door, or the thing would not lock. If it would not lock, the dock plate would not open.

Because of all the different angles, it was extremely difficult for me to judge exactly where I needed to be. The only saving grace here was that I was not the only one who had problems with it. They told me that every driver that backed into that dock had problems with it.

I finally got sick and tired of it, and took a can of florescent orange spray paint to their brand new asphalt lot. As far as I know, they never found out who did it.:biggrin_25525:

No more space on the passenger side. You have to be straight but they have the room you need to set up so it's not that big of a deal. It was actually easy to get into, just not much wiggle room.
