Where was that at last year? I haven't got free coffee for at least 5 years and that was a mom and pop's place.

well I do not fuell my own truck anymore - but when I still ran as an OO - I always got a freebie at the pilots (been 3 years ago)

I do know that if you frequent the same place they may give it to you now...

I know the flying j's stopped because guys were taking the courtesy cups and giving them to another driver while they filled up their 99oz super bladder buster....

Free coffee was nice. How about being able to put your name and truck info. on a sheet at the fuel desk and having someone knock on your door to wake you up when you needed it? THAT was really nice. No charge, part of the service sir.

    I don't remember that one!

I like the old truckstops with family style seating. never knew who you'd be sitting next to. Then again that is when there was people out there you'd actually want to talk to

Remember when Burns Bros truck stops used to give a driver a free meal with a 50 gallon fuel up?
Big breakfast or a good lunch -- not small portions either. A REAL meal for FREE.
I consumed many of those meals in Wilsonville, Oregon and Corning, California.
And if my schedule was tight and I didn't have time for a sit-down meal, they'd make two fried egg sandwiches to go. That's four eggs. And they were really good.

Ahhhhh, those were the daze. :yes2557:

BTW, are any of the truck stop chains giving a free steak dinner with an oil change and lube anymore?
