Your state MVR will not necessarily show everything that is on a CDLIS check. That is what is pulled up during a DOT inspection, you can get one through most DOT compliance companies.

You did state that you did not know exactly what it was for, but you know you got the ticket. If you had that discussion with Werner you admitted that you application was not complete and correct, thus they would see no reason to pursue it further. They need to verify what you put down and what you say must be complete, as well as correct.

Get the information you need and resubmit to them with an explanation. Do not submit applications to anyone else until you get the details of this violation.

Yeah, I have heard horror stories about Werner. However they are one of the bigger starter companies so I was not really concerned in the matter. Just looking to get my starting time there and then to move on. And the recored I have from the PA DOT is a 10 year history.

Thats good, they only count the last 3 but want 7 to 10. Try Central Transport.

I think I understand, you originally got a ticket for speeding and it was plea bargained down to a 0 pt violation that only carries a fine. I've had several of those in the past. What you need to record is exactly what you were convicted of, not what you were charged with and reduced to. IF you were charged with speeding, but it was reduced to defective vehicle, you know, the company knows, and the insurance knows you were originally charged with something else. But 95% of the time they aren't going to poke into it unless you have other recent tickets on your record.

Near as I can figure at this point it seems as if it was something like a ticket for not putting money in the parking meter. Now not knowing exactly what comes back on a CDL check, as someone earlier stated, I just don't know where it places me.

I can't believe you got a ticket and don't remember what it was for! I remember EVERY ticket I've gotten over the years as I worked hard to get them! ROFL!

Now that I got that off my chest I'm going to give you some advice everyone of you should take to heart.

Years ago back in the late 80's I got to spend a weekend in Georgetown, Ky jail because Ga put MY paid ticket on someone elses drivers license. Don't even ask me but I had to wait until Monday when Georgia came back to work to get it all figured out.

My Advice. EVERY TICKET you get from now to the day you die you keep a copy of the ticket, both sides, the money order you used to pay it with, a copy of the return receipt requested where you sent the payment to the clerk of the court AND any letter that your lawyer or the DA on the case sends you regarding your case. Keep all of this information with you in your briefcase or in your documents file on you laptop, or your flash drive.

Get a 7 or 10 year MVR report and see whats on it but as someone noted earlier you ONLY put what the final outcome with the court was. A parking ticket is better than a 15+MPH over the speed limit. Never volunteer information that can be detrimental to you getting a job. Just do not falsify the application!

Another hint: NEVER pay a ticket! Get a lawyer or show up in court and fight the ticket. BEST to get the lawyer as if it's a speeding or points related ticket it will effect your car insurance for 3 years and YES a CDL ticket does count against your car unless you are a member of AARP. Their insurance doesn't recconiaze CDL tickets on your car! They are the ONLY insurance company that does this! All the others want to get into your wallet!

    God luck

This was my thought as well -- but I wasn't exactly laughing about it. If I were considering a driving career, I sure as heck wouldn't forget the specifics of a ticket. I'd be very concerned about that sucker... and the fact that the OP is treating it so casually raises flags to me as to how serious he will be as a driver.
