All Amazon trailers are spring ride except for some of the rental trailers. That surprised me but truthfully I didn’t notice much of a difference between spring and air, granted these are 53’ trailers.

Correct I never have. 1 that's the reason I was asking this question and said in the post because I only have driven straight trucks and have owned a couple. I was asking because if driver said I need it as far as picking up loads and stuff I was fine with getting it. But I was wanting to make sure of what was best from the drivers. I did not realize they was still so many semi trailers Palm Springs. I thought the vast majority was on bags. That's why I like talking to other operators and owners because you will get the straight truth

Ever pull a trailer with no suspension other than just walking beams?

Most of our tankers are spring ride. With the liquid sloshing around, I can hardly tell it though. Industry wide, spring ride trailers are more common that many realize. Some big companies run spring rides. Crete is spring ride, only run air ride in their reefer division. Schneider runs a lot of them too.

Yeah that's what shocked me until this post and admiring the reason I ask. I believed at the time that most of them was air ride. Well that's why it's best to ask questions before spending 40K LOL

All I can say is that if I had the choice , I’d never pull another spring ride trailer . the air suspension is soooo much smoother for both the driver and the cargo

That's the Fkn TRUTH right there!
They're usually heavier also, it's a double whammy of stupid with spring suspension from 1970s
