CalArk wasn't a bad company to work for, my husband worked for them for acouple mths then went over to the O/O side "Central Hauling", which was a huge mistake we love our truck and have no problems with AEL (their lease company) but Central Hauling dispatcher are abunch of rude women that could careless about their drivers, they will lie to you by telling oh yeah take this small run and as soon as you get there I'll have a big run for you and then you get there and end up sitting for a day or 2 because they have nothing. We moved our truck over to Conway and LOVE it. The dispatcher treat you with respect and tell O/O you dont work for us we work for you, which for a O/O is nice to hear. We have made twice the money over at Conway then we ever did at Central. I have a friend who still works for CalArk and has problems but stays because she doesnt like swapping companies.
Does any one work for calark now.

Thinking of going to cal ark. Do they run dedicated? Whats the hometime? Docompany drivers get a prostar? They said they would get me home weekly because of where i live. 1 mile off i-65. Howshould i take that ? Home on weekends, 34 hours sometime during the week, or ill drive by and wave at my exit? I know they pull alot of freight outta louisville. Can you take the truck home? Can you make good moneyat cal ark?

I worked for Cal-Ark for 71/2 years and did 1,000,000 miles+ with them. When i left 3 years ago they were a great company to work for, still have many friends in the offices there, sometimes they get slow like anyone else but thats the nature of the beast called trucking.

I work for Calark....for a little longer. It's a wonderful company to work for in the winter months. I love the freight lanes. Most weeks I get 2700-3000 miles. The downside? the shop is staffed with trainees and they don't want you to have work done anywhere else. I've been here a year and I'm driving a 2007 volvo. However my truck is one of 10 in the fleet. The rest are all international both 9400's and prostars. They don't have APU's, no pet policy unless you're in a 9400. And the average age of the trucks is 5 years old. Some of the trucks they're putting drivers in have a million miles on them. I guess it's like any other company. You take the good with the bad.
